Scene Work

Students learn technique and how to apply it to a role including how to break down characters creatively for TV/Film scenes and monologues. This class will examine scenes from both a METHOD perspective (a range of training and rehearsal techniques that seek to encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances, think… emotion and imagination) while also incorporating elements of MEISNER (this approach is for the actor to "get out of their head", such that the actor is behaving instinctively to the surrounding environment). Students will work on a mix of longer scenes from published works (plays & film) and monologues over a period of several works. This class is designed to explore a scene to its fullest while empowering the actor to take risks and trust instincts.
